Congratulations to First Baptist Preschool and Kindergarten and to Little Beginnings Day Care and Preschool of Oak Park!
January 18, 2012 - During 2011, the Collaboration provided technical guidance and mentoring support to First Baptist Preschool and Kindergarten and to Little Beginnings Day Care and Preschool as they engaged in the Illinois Quality Rating System (QRS). Both Centers have achieved a QRS star rating level of two out of a four-point scale.
QRS assists child care programs in providing quality care for children and their families. It is a challenging process. These centers' participation in QRS demonstrates their commitment to providing children quality learning and care experiences.
QRS offers rating levels that child care centers can achieve for meeting specific indicators of quality. Once a child care provider has met the required criteria for a level, they are awarded a QRS certificate. All QRS Awards recognize achievement above state minimum standards. This award earned the centers a ten percent quality bonus in the reimbursement rate for children enrolled in the Child Care Assistance Program. Both centers have expressed a commitment to continue their engagement in QRS and achieve an even higher-level score.
Congratulations to Barbara Branch, Director of First Baptist Preschool and Kindergarten and to Charice Phillips, Director of Little Beginnings Day Care and Preschool!
